New beginnings

We all have days that start like this. "I'm not getting up today, you hear me" My one eyed boy has had enough of all this shifting lark and has taken to his safe place, our bed.
Yes that is my big throw that became a blanket plus one of the bus rugs on the bed. I'l take the bright one off and show you the finished lighter one supposed to be just a throw to go with an unmade patchwork quilt.
Tadah! here it  is and at the moment I'm glad its big enough to cover the whole bed as I dont know when I'l get around to making the quilt. Shifting is such a big business even when its only  to next door and I dont do upheaval very well but now we are here I am very happy.
I have really enjoyed putting things in place like our big dresser filled with my pretty chinas and collection of green glass. Can you just see the lamp bases on the top. Purchased from my favourite local secondhand shop Alley Way. I have learned that they would have originally come from an old ship. Pity the glasses wernt still with them. I saw one in a mag and the glass was green too.
This smaller dresser was my parents. This used to be their home and the dresser has been there since they moved in back in 1996. I have happily made it the drinks department with all that is needed for the occasional tipple.
It has been fun making little gatherings of like things and mixtures. This is a little rustic gathering with yes some green glass.
I like these artificial fruit jars up here and where the patchwork elephant is I have something special on lay-by to go there that is equally bright.
Now this I am so excited about. The jug was a recent find at a garage sale for $3 and the glasses were my mothers so I was so thrilled when I finally found the glasses packed away and found they matched.
This is the top 2 shelves of the whatnot. The other 2 shelves are yet to be organised as are many other corners and larger areas of the house.
There are still many pictures to be hung .
Oops, another view over the kitchen divider where you can see my green glass containers that my friend Janet kindly gave me as she is changing her kitchen to red and knew I had my eye on these.
These frames came from Ally Way and were just what I wanted. The white one is destined to be a notice board on the wall just above where they now stand and the other one will probably be painted and also used for a notice board in my studio.
The tidy corner of my dressing table.
And a clossup of this very pretty lace china basket found at a garage sale and cleaned up.
Now the studio was used as a dumping place during the move and I could hardly move for all the boxes that needed unpacking and things needing a place to be put, but finally I managed to clear enough space for a table and spot to put my machine. It was so long since I had sewn I had to think long over every move like where is reverse.
Looking over the top of my machine you can see a great gathering of stuff. Precious stuff it is though, and I hope to be producing either useful or beautiful things from this stuff from now on.
My first project  was to line this large basket from AW so I could use it for my wool.
 Tadah! Now to fill it.
Will it all fit. Which ones shall I put on top.
 Such happy decision making.
I am very happy with this outcome and now I can get on with this
hexi rug that has been languishing untouched during the move. Were away laughing.
Its so good to be back in blogland and to feel life starting again.
Blessings to you all, Trills
